Privacy policy

BidMyJob collects only what it needs to run the service: your name, email, postcode (to match you with local jobs), and the content you post — jobs, bids, messages and reviews.

What's public

  • Jobs show your first part of postcode (e.g. LS8) and town — never your full address or postcode.
  • If you offer your services, your profile shows your name, town, bio, skills and reviews. If you only post jobs, the public sees your first name and initial, and your profile is hidden from search engines.
  • You can post a job anonymously: the job page then says “a local resident” instead of your name.
  • Your phone number and email are only shared with the other party after a bid is accepted.

Messages

Messages you send through BidMyJob are only shown to you and the other member. To protect members from scams and enforce our terms, the site administrator can also read them; they are never shared with anyone else or used for advertising.

Emails

We send transactional emails (verification, bids, messages, job alerts). You can switch each type off in Settings, except account security emails.

Signing in with Google or Facebook

If you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Facebook”, that service shares your name, email address and an account ID with us. We use them only to create and sign in to your account. We never see your Google or Facebook password, and we never post anything to your accounts there.

Cookies & analytics

With your consent (the banner you see on first visit), we use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set — the site works exactly the same either way. You can change your mind by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.

Your data, and deleting it

You can delete your account from Settings at any time, which removes your profile, jobs, bids and messages — including any Google or Facebook sign-in linked to it. If you can't get into your account, ask us through the contact pageand we'll delete it for you. Postcode lookups use the public postcodes.io service; only the postcode itself is sent to it.
