What counts as an odd job?
Anything too small for a contractor and too awkward to do yourself. Most of the work posted here takes somewhere between an hour and a day, and it's the sort of thing people struggle to get a tradesperson to turn up for. You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson to bid on most of it — just capable, reliable and local.

How bidding works
- 1. Set up your profile. Add a photo, a couple of lines about your work, the trades you cover and how far you'll travel. It takes about two minutes.
- 2. Get alerts. We email you when a job is posted within your radius. Open it, read what's needed, ask the poster anything you need to know.
- 3. Name your price. Send a bid. If they pick you, you sort the details directly and get paid directly — we never take a cut and never handle the money.
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no membership, no lead fee and no commission — which is the part most sites charge for. BidMyJob is small and local rather than a national directory: 34 people are currently available for work on it, and the whole point is that the money stays between you and the person who posted the job.
